Ingredients to a proper faith in Christ: Applying All Diligence to these things...

"Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith also supply..."--2 Peter 1:5.  Moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.  2 Peter 1:5 begins the list we just got done discussing which includes the seven things I just listed.  The key to supplying these to our faith is diligence.

Diligence.  Diligence means we must have initiative.  I think it's crazy how weak we can be when it comes to our battle with sin. Winning this battle requires diligence.

Diligence.  2 Peter 1:10 tells us that as long as we PRACTICE these things, we will NEVER stumble.

Diligence.  Re-read the line above. Notice first we must PRACTICE these things.  Practice is part of diligence. When we practice a sport, the intent is to perfect what we are practicing.

Diligence.  The second point that we will NEVER stumble.  In addition, we will never stumble AS LONG AS we practice these things.  If we are practicing the things listed on a continual basis, the more we do them, the less we will stumble (sin) and doing these things will help us avoid losing out on eternity altogether.

Diligence. 2 Peter 1:8 tells us that practicing these qualities will keep us from becoming useless in the kingdom of God. If we want to be useful to God, we need to put these things into practice.

Diligence.  So all this being said, my encouragement to you is twofold.  Realize that if we don't practice these things, we are of no use to God. So what I encourage you to do is write down the seven qualities listed here.  Post them somewhere that you can see them daily and put these into practice in your daily life.

Thanks for taking the time to read this short message.  DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! PRAY ABOUT IT! LOVE Y'ALL! GOD BLESS!
