Christ is like Melchizedek...

"For it is attested of Him, 'You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."--Hebrews 7:17. Melchizedek, a man who was both priest and king.  Christ is also like Melchizedek in that He is both priest and king.

Christ is like Melchizedek.  Tonight's blog is another one that is going to be more information than application.

Christ is like Melchizedek.   Christ is like Melchizedek in that Christ is both priest and king.  More specifically, Christ is our High Priest and He is the King of Kings.

Christ is like Melchizedek.  Hebrews 7:2 describes that Christ is like Melchizedek first by the translation of his name which means king of righteousness.

Christ is like Melchizedek.  Christ is like Melchizedek in that Melchizedek was king of Salem which also according to Hebrews 7:2 means king of peace.

Christ is like Melchizedek.  Christ is like Melchizedek in that Melchizedek will always be a priest as stated in Hebrews 7:3.

Christ is like Melchizedek.  Christ is like Melchizedek in that Abraham was blessed by Melchizedek as stated in Hebrews 7:8.

Christ is like Melchizedek.  Christ is like Melchizedek in that they were both descended from Judah of which Moses said nothing concerning priests as stated in Hebrews 7:14.

Christ is like Melchizedek.  Finally, Christ is like Melchizedek because Christ is the only one who fits the description. We needed someone who could be a priest forever.  We needed a king.  We needed someone who could continually cleanse us of sins. We needed that one person who was holy, undefiled and innocent as stated in Hebrews 7:26.  The only one who fits that description is Jesus Christ!

Since He is the only one that fits the description what will we do? Will we follow Him or try to make it on our own? Do not reject the gospel message as it is our ONLY hope of getting to heaven.
