Hear O Israel! Part 3...

Hear O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your all might.  Moses reminding the people that they are not only to love God with all their heart and all their soul but also with all their might.

Love God with all your might.  The fact that we need to love God with all our might is an interesting concept.

Love God with all your might.  The definition for the Hebrew word here means strength or power.

Love God with all your might.  We have already looked at loving God with all your heart which is the seat our emotions and with all our soul which is the power behind our will so what about loving God with all our might?

Love God with all your might.  Simply by implication, the Bible attests to the fact that we must use our physical bodies to carry out God's commands.  For example in Matthew 28:19, the very first word of the Great Commission is to "Go" which of course implies using our feet to go where we need to go.  This same verse tells us to make disciples by baptizing.  Baptizing requires the use of our hands and arms.  Mark 16:15 tells us to preach the gospel which involves using our voice.  Using our physical bodies to carry out God's commands obviously demands our energy or our might.

Love God with all your might.  Loving God with all our might means loving God with all our power and strength based on the definition of the Hebrew word.

Love God with all your might.  So given this fact it should be obvious that every ounce of our energy needs to be devoted to doing God's will however we possibly can.  Of course we need to rest, eat, and sleep to replenish said energy.  The point is though, as Christians we need to use whatever might we have to further God's kingdom however we can.

Love God with all your might.  Carrying out God's commands is not always easy and sometimes it will require more strength to carry out God's commands.  We know that God never gives us more than we can bear so even when we don't think we do, we have God given strength to carry out His commands even when it is not necessarily easy.  So like me, you may not have muscles like the guy in the image above or be the most athletically fit person.  But that does not mean you can't carry out God's commands in your life. The strength that comes from God is far greater than any sort of strength you might get in the weight room.

So my encouragement to you is this, figure out a way that you can use your hands, feet and even your voice to do something for God's kingdom.  So, love God with all your might.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! PRAY ABOUT IT! LOVE Y'ALL! GOD BLESS!
