Christian Evidences: Mount Sinai, did it really happen?

"Now Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the Lord descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently."--Exodus 19:18.  Here we find the account of the Lord descending on Mount Sinai just prior to the giving of the Ten Commandments.  The question we have to ask ourselves is did this really happen?

Did it really happen?  This particular blog is a little different in that this morning we are not dealing with what we need to be doing to be a more godly people but simply investigating a biblical account so that we can more accurately defend what the Scripture says.

Mount Sinai, did it really happen? Well it is easy to say yes but like much of the Bible there is proof that the events described in Exodus surrounding Mount Sinai have been proven by archaeological evidence and the evidence has proven some tradition wrong.  What I mean is that Mount Sinai is actually located east of the Sinai Peninsula in Saudi Arabia and Galatians 4:25 tells us Sinai is in Arabia.

Mount Sinai, did it really happen? Much of my information comes from some material that I have looked at in the last year. The images given here are courtesy of another website that can be accessed here.

So, when we ask if the events of Mount Sinai really happened the evidence says yes.  The image above if you will look closely has been scorched at it's peak which signifies a heat source must have come in contact with it. Furthermore, there is evidence of the rock that was struck by Moses in Exodus 17

We can answer yes to Sinai having really happened because there is also evidence of the Golden Calf mentioned in Exodus 32:1-9.

So when we ask if the events surrounding Mount Sinai really happened, we can answer with an emphatic YES!

I pray this has helped reinforce your faith and share this little bit of evidence with others.  And check out the link I gave for more information.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! PRAY ABOUT IT! LOVE Y'ALL! GOD BLESS!
